Ronnie’s Giardiniera adds a bright, flavorful crunch that cuts through the richness, turning a classic melt into a standout sandwich bursting with texture and flavor.

Ingredients

  • (Serves 2)
  • 4 slices hearty sourdough or whole-grain bread
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened (for toasting)
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese6 slices roasted turkey breast
  • 4 slices crispy bacon
  • ½ crisp apple, thinly sliced Honeycrisp or Pink Lady are best)
  • 3 tbsp Ronnie’s Giardiniera (mild or spicy — drained slightly)
  • Optional #1: drizzle of honey mustard or maple dijon for sweetness
  • Optional #2: turn it into the greatest BLT ever by adding lettuce and a tomato.

Instructions

1. Butter the bread: Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice. Place two slices butter-side down on a preheated cast-iron skillet (medium heat).
2. Layer the flavor: Add a slice of cheddar, turkey, apple slices,
bacon, and a spoonful of Ronnie’s Giardiniera on each bottom slice.
Tip: press the giardiniera lightly with a paper towel so it doesn’t make the bread soggy — just leaves that perfect tangy crunch.
3. Top it off: Add another slice of cheddar and the second piece of bread, butter-side up.
4. Grill & melt: Cook 3–4 minutes per side until the bread is golden, the cheese is gooey, and you get that crispy sizzle sound.
5. Slice & serve: Cut in half.
6. Serve with a small ramekin of extra giardiniera for dipping.
